How Your Plan and Credits Work
Your plan and your credits are the two concepts that explain how much you can send with Nevent each month and what happens when you need more capacity. This page explains how each one works and how they relate to each other.
The plan: the foundation of your subscription
Section titled “The plan: the foundation of your subscription”When you sign up for Nevent, you choose a plan. The plan defines the features available in your account and the number of credits you automatically receive each month.
In the Billing Center (Settings > Account and plan > Billing Center, Summary tab) you can check your plan’s name, its status, and its monthly price. The plan renews automatically every month.
The plan also includes a button to change it, though exploring that option falls outside the scope of this explanation.
Credits: the currency of usage
Section titled “Credits: the currency of usage”Credits are the unit Nevent uses to measure send consumption. Each month your plan makes a fixed number of credits available to you. When you send communications to your attendees, those credits get used up.
In the Packs tab of the Billing Center you can see:
- The number of credits available right now.
- The consumption accumulated during the current month, expressed as a fraction of the total (for example, 0 of 2,000 credits, which equals 0%).
- The origin of the credits: the active plan and the month they correspond to.
Plan credits are monthly. When a new billing cycle starts, the counter resets and you have the full amount included in your plan available again. Unused credits don’t carry over from one month to the next.
What consumes credits when you send to several channels
Section titled “What consumes credits when you send to several channels”When you create a campaign, you can select more than one channel. It’s worth knowing what happens then, because it’s the most common cause of higher-than-expected consumption.
Multichannel sending is parallel, not cascading. Selecting email and SMS doesn’t mean Nevent tries one first and falls back to the other if it fails: it means the same person receives both messages, and each one consumes its own credits.
An example with round numbers. If you send to a segment of 2,000 people:
| Channels selected | Messages sent |
|---|---|
| Email only | 2,000 |
| Email and SMS | 4,000 |
| Email, SMS and WhatsApp | 6,000 |
That’s why, if it’s your first campaign or the segment is large, it’s worth starting with a single channel and adding the others once you know how your audience responds.
Additional packs: extra credits on demand
Section titled “Additional packs: extra credits on demand”When your plan’s credits aren’t enough for the volume of sends you need at a given moment, you can buy additional credit packs.
A pack is a block of credits added to your account’s available balance. In the Packs tab of the Billing Center there’s a section called “My packs” where the full history of purchased packs is logged, with the option to filter to only active ones or also view previous history.
Unlike your plan’s monthly credits, additional packs aren’t tied to the monthly renewal cycle: their balance stays available until it’s consumed.
If you don’t buy any additional pack, you work only with the monthly credits included in your plan.
How the plan and packs relate to each other
Section titled “How the plan and packs relate to each other”The plan is the starting point: it determines the credits you receive automatically each month. Packs are an additional layer you can activate when a specific event’s volume exceeds that base amount.
When your credit balance reaches zero, campaign sends stop. Buying a pack at that moment reactivates your sending capacity without having to wait for the monthly renewal.
Where to check this information in Nevent
Section titled “Where to check this information in Nevent”All plan and credit information is centralized in the Billing Center, accessible from Settings > Account and plan > Billing Center. The relevant tabs for usage are:
- Summary: shows the active plan, its status, and the monthly price.
- Packs: shows available credits, the month’s consumption, and the history of purchased packs.
