Activate your communication channels

In this guide you’ll walk through the Channels section of Nevent’s Settings. You’ll see which channels you have available, what state each one is in, and what you need to do to activate the ones that aren’t running yet. About 5 minutes.

You need access to the admin panel with administrator or manager permissions in your organization. If you don’t see the Settings option in the side menu, contact whoever gave you access to the account.

Step 1: Access Settings and open the Channels section

Section titled “Step 1: Access Settings and open the Channels section”

In the side menu, scroll down to the bottom and click Settings (the last item in the menu, with the gear icon).

Inside Settings, find the Brand and Content group in the left-hand secondary menu. Click Channels.

The “Communication Channels” screen opens with four tabs: Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Analytics.

Email is the primary channel and comes activated by default on every Nevent account. You don’t need to do anything to start sending email campaigns.

On this tab you can adjust three things:

  • CC recipients: add addresses that will receive a copy of every email campaign you send.
  • Sender: the name the recipient sees in the “From” field of their inbox. If you leave it empty, it uses your organization’s name.
  • Default reply-to address: where your contacts’ replies go. You can override it campaign by campaign.
  • Email signature: the block of text and colors that appears at the bottom of all your emails. It includes legal information, social media links and the unsubscribe link.

SMS lets you send text messages directly to your contacts’ phones. It’s the channel with the highest open rate, though it requires SMS credits and some extra configuration before you can send.

Click the SMS tab.

You’ll see an important notice about the CNMC Alias Registry (the Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia, Spain’s telecommunications regulator). Starting September 15, 2026, operators will block SMS whose sender isn’t registered there. Nevent handles this process for you: contact the support team to get it started.

To enable the channel:

  1. Turn on the Enable SMS switch.
  2. Add at least one Sender ID: this is the name, up to 11 characters, that will appear as the sender on the recipient’s phone (for example, MYVENUE or FEST2026).
  3. Save your changes with the Save button in the top-right corner.

WhatsApp lets you send marketing campaigns directly to your contacts’ messaging app. To activate it, you need to connect a WhatsApp Business account, which is Meta’s official business profile.

Click the WhatsApp tab.

You’ll see the connection screen with the Connect WhatsApp Business button. Clicking it opens Meta’s verification flow, where you authorize Nevent to send messages on behalf of your business account.

This process is handled directly by Meta: you’ll need access to the phone number you use as your WhatsApp Business number and to your Meta (Facebook) business account.

The Analytics tab isn’t a communication channel as such, but rather the connection to external measurement tools. Here you connect your campaign tracking with Meta and Google.

Click the Analytics tab.

You’ll see two integrations:

  • Meta Pixel: enter your pixel’s numeric ID (you’ll find it in Meta’s ad manager, under “Data sources”). Once activated, Nevent automatically sends conversion events to Meta, which improves the performance of your paid campaigns on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Google Analytics: enter your GA4 property’s measurement ID (in the format G-XXXXXXXXXX). Once activated, Nevent sends your campaign data to Google Analytics so you can see traffic and conversions in your GA4 reports.

Turn on each integration’s switch only once you’ve entered the correct ID. Then click Save.

You now know Nevent’s four communication channels and how each one is configured. Email is ready to use from day one. SMS and WhatsApp require extra configuration and registration steps before you can send. Analytics lets you connect Meta and Google to enrich your campaign data.
