Magic Links: Shorten Links and Track Clicks

A Magic Link is a short link that redirects to a long URL and counts every click it receives. Instead of sharing https://demofest.nevent.es/event/demo-fest-2026-entradas, you share something like nevt.link/yZAoyk, which looks cleaner on social media, in your Instagram bio or in WhatsApp messages, and also tells you how many people came through.

In this guide you’ll see how to create a Magic Link from scratch and how to read its data. About 5 minutes.

In the side menu, inside the Tools section, click Magic links.

This opens the list of your Magic Links grouped by destination: one link per destination, with its full history, whether it was generated by a campaign, the assistant, or you. For each row you see the destination, the source (Manual, From campaign or From assistant), the short link, the total clicks, where it’s been used, and the last click.

Click the + Create Magic link button in the top right corner.

A form opens with these fields:

  • Destination URL (required): the long URL you want the link to redirect to. It must start with https://.
  • Title: an internal name so you can identify it in the list. For example: “Tickets Instagram, August”.
  • Expiration date: if the link should stop working after a certain date, set it here. If you leave it blank, the link never expires.
  • Folders: optional tags to organize your Magic Links by campaign or channel.
  • Active URL: this toggle determines whether the link is live. If you turn it off, nobody who clicks it will reach the destination.

Enter the destination URL and the title. The other fields are optional.

When you’ve filled in what you need, click Create Magic link.

After creating the Magic Link, you’re taken back to the list automatically and a confirmation appears in the top right corner: “Magic link created.”

Your new link is now in the first row of the table. The code you see (for example, 2h92bh) is the final part of your short URL: https://nevt.link/2h92bh.

You can now copy that short URL and paste it wherever you want: your Instagram bio, TikTok stories, WhatsApp messages, emails, or any other channel.

Step 5: Check the clicks in the detail view

Section titled “Step 5: Check the clicks in the detail view”

To see a Magic Link’s data, click its title in the list. This opens the detail screen, with three sections accessible from the side menu:

  • Analytics: click metrics with filters for time range, granularity and comparison mode. It shows total clicks in the period, unique visitors and click-through rate, plus an evolution chart, a country map and device distribution.
  • Summary: the link’s full profile, with the all-time total of clicks, the short URL, the destination URL, the title, the code and the dates.
  • Individual URLs: when the Magic Link comes from a Nevent campaign, this shows a personalized URL for each contact it was sent to. This lets you know exactly who clicked. If the link was created manually, this section stays empty until it’s linked to a campaign.

From the right-hand panel you can change the time range (last 24 hours, last 7 days, last 30 days or last 90 days) and the granularity (by day, week or month).

The Summary section shows the all-time total of clicks since the link was created, regardless of the period selected.

You now have your Magic Link created and know where to check its clicks. You can create as many links as you need: one per channel (Instagram, Telegram, email), one per event, or one per campaign.
