Getting started with Nevent AI

In this tutorial you’ll connect Nevent to Claude and make three real queries about your account: your recent campaigns, an audience segment, and an event’s data. By the end you’ll know how the assistant works and be able to use it in your day-to-day.

You don’t need any technical knowledge. You only need an active Nevent account and access to Claude (on the web or in the desktop app).

Estimated time: about ten minutes.

By completing this tutorial you’ll be able to:

  • Connect Nevent to Claude using the server URL.
  • Confirm the connection is working correctly.
  • Ask questions about your campaigns, your audience and your events in natural language.
  • Understand what the assistant can and can’t do in the default mode.

Check that you have:

  • Access to Claude. You can use the web version at claude.ai or the Claude Desktop app. Both support MCP connectors. If you’d rather use the desktop app, download it from claude.ai/download.
  • An active Nevent account. You need to be able to sign in at admin.nevent.es with your username and password.
  • Claude.ai Pro plan or higher. MCP connectors aren’t available on the free plan.

  1. Open Claude Desktop.

Launch the app on your computer. You’ll see the main screen with an empty chat field.

  2. Open Settings.

    • On Mac: press cmd + , or go to the Claude menu in the top bar and select Settings.
    • On Windows: press ctrl + , or go to the File menu and select Settings.
  3. Go to the connectors section.

Inside Settings, look for a section called Connectors, Integrations, or similar. The exact name may vary depending on your language and Claude Desktop version.

  4. Click “Add Custom Connector”.

Find the Add Custom Connector button and click it.

  5. Fill in the form.

A form with two fields appears. Fill them in exactly like this:

    FieldValue
    NameNevent
    URLhttps://mcp.nevent.ai/mcp
  6. Click “Connect”.

Claude Desktop automatically opens a window in your browser so you can sign in to Nevent.

  7. Sign in to Nevent.

In the browser window, enter the same username and password you normally use to sign in at admin.nevent.es. Nevent will ask you to confirm that you authorize access from Claude.

Your password never reaches Claude. The system uses OAuth 2.1: Nevent issues a temporary token, and that’s what the assistant uses to query your data.

  8. Go back to Claude Desktop.

Close the browser window (or it will close on its own) and return to Claude Desktop. You should see Nevent in the list of active connectors with the status “Connected”.

Nevent is now connected. Let’s confirm it’s working.

Open a new conversation in Claude. In the message bar, click the tools icon (or the + button) and verify that Nevent appears in the list of available tools.

Now type this message in the chat:

List my recent campaigns

Claude will query your Nevent account and reply with your most recent campaigns, including their name, status and channel (email, SMS or WhatsApp). If you see real data from your account, the connection is working correctly.

Now you’ll ask three real questions. Each one shows you a different capability of the assistant.

Type in the chat:

Which campaigns sent last month had the best open rate?

The assistant queries your account and returns the list of last month’s campaigns sorted by open rate. You can keep asking about any of them. For example:

Give me the details for the first one: opens, clicks and unsubscribes

The assistant pulls the real data from your account and presents it in natural language, without you needing to export anything or navigate any menus.

Type:

List all my saved segments with the number of contacts in each one

The assistant returns the list of segments you have in Nevent along with the contact count for each one. If you want to know how many people would fall into a segment that doesn’t exist yet, you can describe it:

How many people would fall into a segment of attendees who bought in the last 6 months and have a valid email?

The assistant calculates the estimated size before you save anything. This lets you explore your audience without committing to creating anything until the result makes sense.

Type the name of one of your recent events, for example:

Show me the registrations for [your event name] broken down by ticket type

The assistant returns the breakdown of tickets sold by category (for example, general admission, VIP, season pass). You can keep asking:

How many tickets are left available?

or

What was that event's total revenue?

The assistant cross-references the data instantly and answers you without you needing to know how it’s organized in your account.

You’ve connected Nevent to Claude and made your first real queries. Now you know that:

  • The connector is set up once. Every conversation starts a new session with its own token, which expires when you close it.
  • You can ask about campaigns, segments and events in natural language.
  • In the default mode, the assistant only queries data and doesn’t modify anything in your account.
  • If you want to prepare campaign drafts or create segments, you need STANDARD mode. Check the permissions and security guide to learn how to enable it.

Now that you have the assistant connected and know how it works, you can go deeper wherever interests you most:

  • Ready-to-use prompts - a catalog of questions organized by area (campaigns, analytics, audience, advertising…) that you can copy directly into the chat: see the catalog.
  • Use cases - complete multi-step flows, like launching an event or winning back a dormant audience: see the use cases.
  • What you can do - the full scope by area, including what can be queried, what the assistant can prepare, and what it can’t do yet: see the scope.
  • Permissions and security - how to control what the assistant can and can’t do in your account: see permissions.
