# View and manage a fan

In this guide you'll learn to locate a fan in your database and navigate every section of their profile. About 5 minutes.

By the end you'll know exactly what data Nevent stores about each person and how to use it to better understand your audience.

## Before you start

You need at least one fan imported into your organisation. If you haven't uploaded any contacts yet, follow the guide [Import your contacts](/en/audience/import-your-contacts/) first.

## Step 1: Go to the fans list

In the side menu, inside the **Fans** block, click **Fans**.

A table opens with all your organisation's contacts. Each row shows the name, email, phone, status, organisation, number of experiences and total accumulated value.

## Step 2: Search for a fan by name or email

At the top of the table there's a search field. Type the name or email of the fan you want to find.

The table filters in real time and shows only the contacts that match your search.

## Step 3: Open the profile

Click the row of the fan you're interested in.

The profile opens with a side menu that has several sections: Summary, Personal details, Public profile, Interests, Tickets, Purchases, Subscriptions, Conversations and Interaction.

The first screen you see is always the **Summary**.

## Step 4: Summary, lifecycle and communications

The Summary gives you the overall picture of the fan. It has two main blocks.

The first is **Lifecycle**: it shows total accumulated spend, number of purchases, events attended and the Nevent Score. The Nevent Score is an automatic score that classifies the fan's level of engagement with your organisation, for example "Low engagement" or "Active fan".

The second block is **Communications**: it shows whether the fan has given consent to receive marketing emails, SMS, push and WhatsApp. It also includes the status of their email: whether the address is valid or has bounced.

:::tip[Tip]
If the email shows as "Unmarked invalid" with a hard bounce notice, that fan won't receive your email campaigns until they update their address. Nevent handles this automatically to protect your sender reputation.
:::

## Step 5: Personal details

Click **Personal details** in the side menu.

Here you see all the fan's contact data: name, email, phone, date of birth, age, gender and tax ID. It also shows the Nevent Score and the contact's overall status.

Further down are the **Communication preferences**: which channels are enabled or disabled (email, push, SMS, WhatsApp). And at the end, any **Custom fields** you've defined in your organisation.

:::note[Note]
WhatsApp consent can only be given by the user themselves from the app. You can't activate it from the admin panel.
:::

## Step 6: Public profile

Click **Public profile**.

This section stores the information the fan has shared on their profile in the Nevent app: a title, a bio and links to their social media (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram).

If the fan hasn't filled in this data, all fields show as "Not specified".

## Step 7: Interests

Click **Interests**.

Here you see the artists the fan has marked as favourites in the Nevent app and the music genres derived from those preferences. This data is generated automatically from the fan's selections in the app.

**Active affinities** are the genre tags Nevent has already assigned, which you can use to segment audiences.

:::tip[Tip]
You can use genres and interests as segmentation criteria. Create a segment of reggaeton or rock fans and target them with relevant campaigns. Learn how in the guide [Create your first segment](/en/segmentation/segmentation-engine/creating-a-segment/).
:::

## Step 8: Tickets

Click **Tickets**.

This section shows the fan's ticket history: each ticket purchased with the date, the event, the type and the value. You can filter and search within the history.

If the fan doesn't have any tickets yet, the table appears empty with the message "No tickets".

## Step 9: Purchases

Click **Purchases**.

Here you see the fan's complete purchase history: date, transaction status, source channel, amount and associated experience. Each row has a link to view that purchase's detail.

## Step 10: Subscriptions

Click **Subscriptions**.

Here you see which of your organisation's newsletters the fan is subscribed to, with the status of each subscription, the date they subscribed and the source channel.

If the fan isn't subscribed to any newsletter, the table appears empty.

## Step 11: Conversations

Click **Conversations**.

This section gathers the exchanges the fan has had with your organisation's chatbot in Nevent. It shows the messages, the first interaction and the latest activity, with a preview of the conversation.

If the fan hasn't interacted with the chatbot, the table appears empty.

## Step 12: Interaction

Click **Interaction**.

The interaction history logs all the actions the fan has taken in response to your campaigns: email opens, clicks, SMS replies and others. Each row shows the date, the channel, the campaign and the type of interaction.

If the fan doesn't have any interactions recorded yet, the table appears empty.

## Result

You now know every section of a fan's profile in Nevent. With this information you can understand each person's purchase history, their level of engagement, their communication preferences and their music taste.

:::tip[Tip]
If you want to work with groups of fans instead of individual profiles, create segments based on criteria such as total spend, music genre or email status. It's the most efficient way to prepare a campaign. Go to [Create your first segment](/en/segmentation/segmentation-engine/creating-a-segment/) to get started.
